Two New Interesting Legal Research-Related Tools: (1) Intraspexion & (2) UniCourt

(1) Intraspexion is a new litigation-avoidance/litigation risk analysis/management tool, using a patented (“Using Classified Text and Deep Learning Algorithms to Identify Risk and Provide Early Warning,” January 24, 2017, U.S. Patent No. 9,552,548Deep Learning system (much of which involves pattern analysis and recognition), based on use of — of all things — the quite-frequently-maligned federal PACER [Public Access to Court Electronic Records] system.

Nelson E. “Nick” Brestoff, an engineer and lawyer, is the Founder and CEO (and patent holder) of the company; please see also here about Intraspexion.

His materials from a recent (Thursday, June 8, 2017) presentation at The Stanford Center for Legal Informatics (CODEX) are here and here.

(2) UniCourt is a new competitor in the court records and legal analytics arena and is, according to Nick Brestoff, working especially hard on state court dockets.

Josh Blandi, a Co-Founder, is the CEO of the company; please see also here about UniCourt.
